Do not use software with pre-set time values! These types of packages were based
on someone else's determination of what is a good method, procedure, process and
labor content. Manufacturing companies are different and so is your competitor.
Only when you use your own time values can your productivity, manufacturing costs,
scheduling, planning and all other uniqueness be properly engineered to beat your
competition. As a note, predetermined systems such as MTM are different from pre-set
software packages. There is software that calculates your time values based on
your MTM input--but it is not pre-set.
